The Illinois Chapter of FarmHouse Fraternity at the University of Illinois is embarking upon a campaign to fully renovate and update the chapter house at 809 W. Pennsylvania Avenue. The campaign officially kicked off at its announcement during a gathering of alumni during Homecoming 2010. Although the renovation was originally planned to be done in its entirety in one academic year, the untimely economic recession has no longer made it feasible to raise the $3 million in funds required to carry out the project by the deadline for installing the mandatory sprinkler system needed to maintain certified housing status.
As a result, it has been determined that the renovation project can be broken down in phases. The first phase is currently scheduled to commence and be completed by the end of summer 2012. This phase will require $1 million to be raised in order to fund the project. That's why we are asking you as an alumni to contribute to the Future of 809 by donating towards the renovation project. Completion of this renovation will enable FarmHouse Fraternity at the University of Illinois to continue to thrive for years to come and ensure that it remains a home to young men who share the common purpose of being "Builders of Men."
